Association of demographic characteristics with mental anxiety caused by the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in candidate patients for cataract surgery

Introduction: The increasing outbreak of COVID-19 disease has challenged global public health and caused a pathological fear its contracting. unknown origin COVID-19, long incubation period, high death rate, rapid transmissions, the lack definitive or preventive treatment great anxiety among world population. Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate correlation between demographic characteristics mental by pandemic candidate patients for cataract surgery. Patients Methods: descriptive-analytical selected 258 candidates surgery referred Shahid Dastgheib Khalili hospitals in Shiraz. data were collected using Corona Disease Anxiety Scale questionnaire. Analytical tests used analysis, including Mann-Whitney U, Spearman’s correlation, Kruskal-Wallis, univariate multivariate linear regression.
